She who from April dates her years,
Diamonds shall wear,
Lest bitter tears
For vain repentance flow.
~Georgian Birthstone Poems~

I have found that April, my birth month tends to be a month of transition.
Events and people seem to draw away my energy, (or perhaps that energy is given of my free will.)
The very things I loved to do and wanted to do got put aside because I felt drained.
As a proponent of stone energy this probably sounds odd. With the knowledge of which stone to wear this should not happen. I was busy pulling out stones to draw out my strengths when in reality I needed, (and had forgotten) that I should be using stones to help me resist the draining of energy by those events and people around me. (Yes, a real DUH moment, thank you.)
SO. Late but no less informative we have diamonds to discuss.
Natural stones are my favorite, still. The fire of a diamond shines like no other. It was thought that the diamond were living beings, being embodied by celestial beings. Also thought to be the tears of the gods, filled with the fire of lightening. Diamonds were used to ward off evil, imbue purity of thought and deed. Also, a symbol of devotion and strength or invincibility.
During the 12th to 14th centuries, only kings and the highest of royalty were allowed to wear diamonds.
During the middle ages the wearing of set stones was not considered “wearing jewelry.” Stones were worn as “amulets.“ Providing protection, or strength.
Diamonds come in many hues. Blue, red, pink, yellows, pale greens, browns and even black.
Usually these “colored” diamonds have been “enhanced” or by electron bombardment. This gives the wearer the benefit of two stones is one. The colors of say, rubies with the brilliance of the diamond.
Due to the hardness of the stones, Diamonds and Diamond dust are even used in industrial work.
Needless to say Diamonds are versatile. When picking out or purchasing a diamond it would be best to get the advice of a professional jeweler, GIA consultant or Gemologist. You will be paying premium prices so a professional will help you get the most for your money by explaining color, clarity and quality.
